2.  Program/Activities Committee:  We have set up a committee to come up with suggestions for programs and activities that we can undertake in the coming months.  Out two scheduled calendar events are the Summer Picnic at the Bonelli Park in San Dimas that we do in collaboration with the other Ghanaian ethnic groups under the auspices of the Ghana Association of Southern California.  The other event is the December End-of-Year get together that we have for ourselves, families and friends. We are asking this committee to help us go beyond these two events. The committee is made up of Robert Hanson-Bonney, interim chair, Nab Akyempon, Isaac Essel, Christie Richardson, Margaret Forson and Justice Ghartey.

3.  MANA 2018 Congress:  Next year's congress will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Dublin, Ohio, from July 13 - 15, 2018.  The national committee along with the local planning committee has been busily working on this congress and further information will be provided as time goes on.  We hope as many of our members will plan to attend this biennial congress.  Past congresses have been fun and have enabled us to connect in real time with our friends in other parts of the United States who are concerned about helping the Central and Western regions in their efforts to improve the living conditions in the two regions.  Check out the exciting MANA webiste for immediate updates: www.mfantsemana.org.
